The majority of items I carry in the gallery/gift
shop are handmade by artists worldwide. Trunk shows offer shoppers
an opportunity to talk with some of the represented artists
about their work and their creative process. Artists
bring in "trunk-loads" of
their wares, much more than I'm able to keep on display in the
gallery/shop. Some artists are invited back for mutiple show
dates due to the popularity of their work and the success of
their shows. Return artists always show their newest work.
I appreciate
funky creativity and am drawn to handmade work that is well-crafted
and unique. Lots of the work is created from
recycled and reclaimed materials and artifacts, such as metals
and tins, fabrics and woolen goods, paper and books, buttons,
wooden objects. Reconstructing an object's original intent
into art is just about the best way to recycle and I'm having a great
time seeking out artist's who agree with me!
