think local first!

I know All of you are part of the shop local mindset — and we Ann Arbor independent business owners love you for that!

Tonight I attended the Think Local First annual member meeting. Everyone at the meeting was geared up for a strong holiday season and feeling positive that the Buy Local movement is as strong in Ann Arbor as it is on other communities around the country.

I ran into a few friends from the downtown business community. Here’s Catherine Thursby, owner of Red Shoes toasting local shoppers:

and Kevin Sharp from the People’s Food Co-op saying “you too can be part of the movement!

Think Local First is tied in with the 3/50 Project, a nationwide shop local movement that simplifies the concept of saving local businesses 3 steps at a time. “What three independently owned businesses in your area would you miss if they disappeared?” Click to the 3/50 Project website to learn more. Thanks so much!

BTW, the Think Local First community guides are hot off the press and now available at Heavenly Metal.
