nancy gardner surprised me!

Oh yeah she did . . . she had a bountiful box of new ceramic pieces delivered to my door! Here’s a pic of a few goodies from the box — check them out . . . are they not soooo precious?

Artist Nancy Gardner and husband/business partner Burt Isenstein live in Oak Park, Illinois in a rambling old house full of fabulous art they’ve collected over years of doing art fairs. Out the back door, in the back of their garden, is Nancy’s studio where she keeps the left-side of her brain working.

Each piece Nancy creates is one of a kind, handbuilt with pinch and coil technique and multiple layers of underglazes and glaze. Her colors are rich blues, greens, oranges with floral patterns and mini houses delicately painted on vases, little jars, little bowls and plates in many shapes and sizes. Look at this yummy picture of Nancy’s newest creations:

Ann Arbor Art Fair visitors will recognize Nancy’s work from visiting her flowery and colorful booth located next to Hill Auditorium, in the Street Art Fair at Burton Tower. Here’s a shot of Nancy in her booth with AASAF board member Steve Kerr:

Nancy’s work fits right in with all the heavenly artwork at Heavenly Metal. Be sure to drop by to see what I’m talkin’ about!

  1. Official greetings to Ann Arbor from nancy and burt! We always enjoy looking at the Heavenly site and are especially pleased to be featured. Our garden is not looking quite so fresh as this photo, the evil mullberry tree has dropped most of it’s leaves and the yard needs a little raking. Stop by to visit Vicki and say hi to our pots.

  2. Cindy says:

ooooh – lovely – did she send any cute little houses, say, maybe a red one?? :)

  3. Love the ceramic people! Wish I could get to A2 to buy one, just had surgery…
