Many of the books I carry in the store are from Chronicle Books. When I received their pre-NY gift email announcement showing new titles, I couldn’t wait to get to the show! So, new titles are on their way!

The Glam Naturale booth feels like I’m inside a little corner of Heavenly Metal. These are the recycled brass and fabric bags, cell phone cases, and necklaces I adore (available on my ecommerce site). One new image will be making it’s way to Ann Arbor: a sweet graphic of a tree full of birdies. Tweet!

This is a new designer for Heavenly Metal, rockflowerpaper. She designs gorgeous fabrics and transfers them into all kinds of goodies. These are plastic-lined water resistant jute flower pot holders for your indoor or outdoor plants. A-door-A-ble.

Meet my new show best friend: Yolanda of Design Legacy! We walked through the vast displays in the booth and found a few new treaures to share with you.

These are the sweetest little flower vases, perfect for Mother’s Day, including tulip bouquets that will never fade away.

You know all those postcards you riffle through at Heavenly Metal? Here’s where I find them: Fotofolio, where one can spend several hours riffling through their selections! I’ve got it down to about a half hour.

This huge photograph stopped me in my tracks. It’s a landfill in S. America.

This company uses the plastic from the landfill to produce purses, bags, wallets, and bracelets. These wallets will be coming soon.

It’s Sarah and Allie! My two favorite Primitives by Kathy gals! Little wood birdies will be flying in soon.

Every gardening season, women come in asking if I sell good gardening hats. I always send them elsewhere. D’uh! Time for me to have them available for you, oui? These Tula sunhats are the bees-knees. Great protection and great looking!

Oyoyoy — the greeting cards at this show. Too many wonderful cards to choose from! But I did order these from Calypso becauses they are just so darn sweet. I had to put on blinders at several other greeting card booths, or the store would be taken over by cards!

Then, I got to hang out with my dear friend Karen Copeland (you’ve heard of her before because she always joins me at the show), go shopping, then dinner in the city. All in all, I’d say it was a good day three!

Of course I exhausted myself visiting with my old friends, vendors I cherish seeing twice a year — such a treat!

Here’s who I saw and what I ordered today:

Noelle Vanttendrick, the soul and love behind ZPots (along with her husband), is a treasure to visit and a pleasure to place orders with. You see her buckets, cups, and lamps in Heavenly Metal — I’ve ordered more and some vases, adorned with her poetry and drawings.

Of course I had a lovely visit with Beth Mueller. Her precious ceramic works are part of the Heavenly Metal family of goodies. I ordered a couple of new styles and lots of new images, painted by Beth.

I had to go back to the Wasabi booth to see Jill, who wasn’t around yesterday when I placed my order! Always always always a big special treat to catch up with Jill. I just love the spring story she’s created – and you will too!

Tokyo Bay has some sweet new watches for spring 2012. Muted pastels, big readable faces, a nice new story!

Dolan Geiman! Love love love his work — and he’s working on some pieces just for me, to bring to Ann Arbor just for you!

I visited with Jill Schwartz of Elements, whose booth looks like one of the Heavenly Metal displays. We love looking at the pictures of her yummy studio in the “Where Women Create” book I carry. More signed copies of the book are on their way.

Spring hats from Goody Goody! They were a hit last spring — this spring there’s a few new fabrics for you to try on!

Spruce is the sweetest earrings, some assymetrical, some not. They were a holiday hit — they sold out — so I bring them back for you to enjoy.

New Highway bags! Fun colors, a teeny bag, new fabrics, a backpack plus the Highway wallets many of you have begged me to bring to Heavenly Metal! Oh Boy and thanks Jem!

New fun socks from Portland Oregon: Sock it to me! I think these will be a winner on the first go-round!

The Maruca spring line is just precious! I can’t wait for the weather to warm up so you can all strut your stuff in the sun with these sunny new fabrics.

OK. That’s all I’m sharing with you from Day One. There was much more, but some of it will just have to be a surprise!

The Handmade section is like walking the Ann Arbor Art Fair, but with perfect weather! It’s all artist booths, run by the artists, rather than by artist reps. Oh, the creative juices that flow!

Here’s Day One. I mostly reordered from some of the artists you’re familiar with:

This is the Sugarboo booth. All hand-made images and text on wood, plus the little cards hanging in the center of this image) I can’t keep in stock. Sweet sweet sweet. You can look forward to some new paper products and new wood box signs in the spring!

Look familiar? These are Jenifer Green of Greentree Home Candles’ owl candles. I love the pieces of birch from her backyard that she used to perch the owls on. We have tons in stock right now, so you don’t have to hold your breath waiting for them to arrive!

I adore this huge peace necklace made on an old spoon. So I ordered it and a few other words from Kriss Lecocq (who’s fabulous pillows are available in Ann Arbor at Found Gallery).

This is a beautiful collection of colorful gemstone necklaces from Wasabi. They will arrive with earrings to match.

All the great greeting cards I carry are handmade and put together in a collection by artist’s rep Daisyd and Friends. With hundreds of cards to shuffle through, I appreciate Pam’s organized method for shuffling! Look forward to some sweet heart and love cards for valentine’s day!

The dconstruct bangles made from recycled plastic come from this Winnipeg, Manitoba artist. They were such a hit, I’m bringing you more and more, in three sizes!

So, this is just the beginning . . . Day Two will be more fun discoveries! I’m fighting off a cold that wants to grab me, so I’ll be taking it just a wee bit slower: perhaps I won’t jump up and down with joy quite as much!

Wooden Ships is Colombian-born designer Paola Buendia and her husband, who live, design, and manufacture their sweater line in Bali. Each sweater is deliciously designed and custom made, and incredibly comfortable and attractive….and fits many shapes and sizes, if not all.

Pure Handknit employs women in Thailand and are dedicated to helping each woman receive a standard of education and health benefits.  All sweaters are knitted by hand, making each piece a true work of art!

Emily is geeked about this pure poncho in “dust” and refuses to take it off.  Pure ponchos are one size fits all and can be worn over anything! Emily thinks it’s the coolest thing ever but can’t decide which color to get!
